2017 In Review

2017 was my first full year as a wedding photographer in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was a year full of new things and good good people. When I look back on this time last year, it is so crazy to see where I was and where I am, how far God has brought me through healing and restoration. And He's not done yet.

To my 2017 clients, friends: You mean the world to me. I know you could have picked any other photographer to document your life and I am truly humbled that you chose me. Thank you for being the kindest, greatest, coolest people ever. I love each of you!

And to the people that still read this blog (and maybe remember the good old days when I blogged multiple times a week about cookies and random trips I was taking), thank you for being you. Thank you for messaging me and telling me that vulnerability has touched your spirit, thank you for opening up about your own journeys, and thank you most of all for showing me what it means to love people well. The community that photography has brought me has become so special to me. Thank you.

"People may not remember exactly what you did, or what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel." - Unknown

Madi and I met at the OWN IT workshop last year. We hit it off right away, her heart is so so beautiful and bright and energetic. I traveled to Omaha recently to hang out with her and her awesome husband Alex for the week and, of course, we took tons of photos + drank many lattes.

Madi makes every person she talks to feel instantly seen and known. Her smile is infectious. And she's an incredible photographer! This girl is fantastic.

2016 | A Year In Review

What's up my peeps? It's been a little bit since I've sat down and written out a blog post. If I'm being honest, sometimes it's easier to just put up some photos and write only a sentence or two. But one of my goals for this year is to exercise my brain a bit and write out some paragraphs for these things.

And Happy New Year! We just finished that week between Christmas and the New Year that feels like a week of Saturdays. Or Mondays. Just a week of transition, planning for the future and reflecting on the past. There's an energy on social media, it's buzzing with the mysterious promise of 2017 and all that it will come with the new year. So, in honor of this week and 2017 being here, I thought I would do a bit of a year in review because so much happened this past year! I'll be honest, it was a slower business year since I moved, but I wake up every day so grateful to do what I love and for all of the wonderful people that have come into my life through photography. It's so surreal! (I'm going to do a blog post about how I only booked seven weddings in 2016 and how that number humbled me. Stay tuned.)

On a personal note, this was a big year for me! I moved halfway across the country to Tulsa, Oklahoma! What an adventure it has been. I'm in love with this city and its people. I'm so grateful to be here. And I'm so excited for all of the weddings that I am booking here for next year! I can't wait to continue to build community!

Here's to another year of hugs, smiles, love + laughter. Thank you to everyone who made this year what it was. Enjoy these photos!

So, guess what? I'm now officially a photographer based in Tulsa, Oklahoma! This has been a LONG time coming and I'm so excited to share that story with you soon. :)

I stopped in Lawrence, Kansas for a little break from driving to Oklahoma and hung out with two of my favorite people in the entire world, Liz and Emily (both incredible photographers and friends). Liz and I snuck in a portrait session and this light was absolutely UNREAL. Liz has such a beautiful heart and an infectious laugh. One of those crinkly-eyed ones that makes everyone else smile because it's so beautiful and light-filled.
