Sometimes I get into a funk and I feel burned out, uninspired, frustrated with my work. And those times are the best to go take some photos. Inspiration is found while working and art is made in the middle of the mundane. Maybe it's not what you originally pictured. That's fine. Genius is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration (Edison). Don't worry about what it will look like and just go make some art.
That thought was posted the other day on the blog of one of my best friends. I read it and instantly connected with that feeling. I'm going to be brutally honest here and say that lately, I've been in a rut with my photography. Something isn't clicking (I think it's partially due to the fact that I was in a foreign country for two months and I am still recovering...) and I was getting frustrated. Nothing was working. So I decided to ask my sister if I could just take pictures of her... no pressure. Just a photo shoot. And I created art. Not some of my best I'd say, but photographs that I am proud of nonetheless. Shooting just to shoot is good for the soul. I'm just going to put that out there.
