workspaces | celebrate: life

As far as business tips go, I don't have many. I don't really read business books, or articles (I'm working on that). I have three years of business experience but even so, I just have the basics down on how to run a business. However, there is one thing that I know for sure. I think it is crucial for any business owner and/or creative person to know where and when they work best. If you know mornings aren't your thing, why would you work then? (I know it's not always possible to choose when you work, but if you own your own business, you have that flexibility!) I know for me I work best at a coffee shop because I can put my earbuds in and drown out extraneous noise, but still be around people. (ENFP my friends!) On top of that, I know that afternoons are not my jam. I can work all morning and after lunch, the tired bug bites me and I need some down time. I take a few hours off, eat dinner, and then work into the night. I have been so much more productive knowing that I can work in the morning + evening and take the afternoons off.

Like I said, I'm not an expert. However, I do know that the beauty of owning a business is that you can own your individuality. Do you like coffee in the morning? Or tea? Or neither? Do you work better in complete silence or surrounded by people? Is a coffee shop or your desk a better work environment for you? And the beauty of it is: it will change as you change. It will ebb and flow as you grow. Figuring out where and when you work best will help you be efficient in your work and be the most productive you can be.
